
Received 111 requests for business assistance to reduce the effects of Covid-19
The call for grants for companies and the self-employed opened by the City of L’Escala to help reduce the economic effects of the Covid-19, has closed with a total of 111 applications submitted
The call provided for a total of three lines of aid to which local companies and self-employed people could apply.
Line 1.- Subsidies to commercial establishments, companies and the self-employed in the municipality of L’Escala for the purchase of protection and security elements as a result of the situation generated by Covid-19.
The aim of this line is to help companies that have had to make an investment to acquire elements of protection and security during the State of Alarm, in order to reactivate the economy of the municipality in the shortest possible time, favoring that this reopening is always done preserving the health of users and workers and helping to prevent the spread of contagion.
A total of 45 requests have been received for this helpline.
Line 2.- Subsidies to the services sector for the damages suffered during the period of State of Alarm generated by the Covid-19
The aim is to help maintain the local commercial and business fabric and resume economic activity, which have been altered as a result of the measures of the State of Alarm, which has forced to close establishments, reduce their activity or adapt it, with the consequent decrease in income.
This is to help companies that have suspended their activity during the forced confinement by the Covid-19 or have suffered a decrease in turnover of at least 70% in the months of March, April and May of 2020 compared to the previous year.
A total of 47 requests have been received for this helpline.
Line 3.- Subsidies to commercial establishments, companies and the self-employed in the municipality of L’Escala for the implementation, during the State of Alarm, of projects of technological innovation and improvement of the premises
Only expenses arising from the investment in both new technologies and the improvement of the premises made during the months of April to June 2020 and which are in line with the Commercial Plan approved by the City Council in 2019 will be eligible.
In this sense are understood to include:
– The purchase of equipment related to new technologies, both software and hardware.
– The costs of communication, advertising and online sales.
– The costs of viewing on social media and website.
– Improvements in the commercial premises.
A total of 19 requests have been received for this helpline.
These subsidies (there is a reserved item of up to 115,000 euros) are part of the economic and social shock plan approved last month by the City of L’Escala to deal with the effects of the Covid-19, with a quarantine of proposals valued at 1.4 million euros.
“All the necessary checks and processing of these subsidies are now being carried out, with which we are trying to help the sector so that the effects of the confinement are not so severe,” said the Councilor for Economic Promotion and Trade. Marta Rodeja.
